Chanel launched their Fall Winter 2021-22 collection yesterday and pre-orders are coming in hot! The pandemic have not hindered the interest in this classic brand and “hot items” are almost impossible to find in boutiques because they’re all “spoken for” before they even hit the shelves! Social media trending colors such as the Chanel 19 in caramel are selling for over 1.5x retail on resell sites. Not to mention the box shortage that’s been impacting Chanel lovers nationwide (I’ll do a separate post on that).
Last evening’s show was, very Fall and Winter. Lots of darker colors like black and maroon complemented by the Chanel gold to give it that halo we all love and adore. What excites me is the creative usage of mixed materials in looks and pieces. There were our usual classic tweed, fur, mesh, sequins and hold on, is that spandex? Of course, Chanel never ceases to surprise us and their new designer Virginie Viard is out to prove just that!
